Eating Down the Fridge: Obviously we won't starve

Disgraceful.

The challenge starts today. I have mixed feelings because I like having split peas and yucky canned clams in our pantry. If there's an earthquake, we will find sustenance. Why compulsively eat it all up?

On the other hand, foodstuffs I thought were imperishable have perished, or become hatcheries for moths. And dried beans have turned into pebbles. I guess it's okay to eat everything up so long as we replenish.

  1. Okay, Tipsy, I'm right there with you... Dang, you have a big refrigerator!

  2. Do we have to finish everything this week? I mean, it's a lot.

  3. I'm a huge fan of your site, and wondered if, in the spirit of this post and the previous one, you might include the prices of the ingredients in the recipes. Many of the dishes you make (but for the pig-ear salad) sound delicious but often full of pricey (and single-use) ingredients. Many thanks!

  4. That is an interesting request, NBK. I sometimes do include the price if things strike me as particularly expensive (veal chops, for instance) and I will keep this in mind in the future.
If there are specific ingredients you want to know the price of, please ask.
