Chickens run faster than I thought

Chasing chickens around the yard at the end of the day is a complete drag. I can see how this might eventually end: You want to stay out all night with the skunks and raccoons, Ms. Ameraucana? Fine. Have it your way. Eggs are cheap.

As Owen put it, "I think they have a little too much energy."

Twenty-five minutes it took us to herd them into their house tonight.

  1. If they know where their house is, they'll usually go in on their own once it starts to get dark. Then you can just go out and shut the door before you go to bed.

  2. That is a big relief. I was hoping you would say that.

Haha, chasing chickens, I can relate! Ever feel like you're playing Moto X3M, but with fowl instead of a motorbike? Maybe try training them with treats? Short bursts of chase, reward, repeat. Might save you 25 minutes! Anyone have chicken-herding tips for us newbies?
